About us

Carlowitz

New developments and improvements in existing technical products and processes must prove their worth in national as well as international competition, not only from an economic, but to an increasing extent also from an ecological standpoint. Together with participants from science, industry, and society, we must find solutions which are affordable, which protect the environment, and which improve the quality of life for humanity.
We operate at the interface between science and industry and perform applications-oriented research and development with the objective of implementing the results of basic research in practical technology or operational patterns.
Precisely this positioning makes it possible to act as a catalyst in the field of environmental technology for fast implementation of results from basic research in products as well as processes and thus to serve society.
Innovative services are in demand: Whoever wants to be a leader in his field tomorrow must accept today's new developments, test them to determine the extent to which they can be realised, and expand them.
As a result of interdisciplinary cooperation among company departments in different fields of process engineering, complex processes can be analysed, modified, or optimised with special emphasis on power- and environmental-engineering aspects.
Because of the sheer diversity of the problems to be solved, specific knowledge of the processes involved, as well as their mutual interactions, is often necessary. For this purpose, we also employ the services of external specialists for specific projects, either from the Technical University of Clausthal, other universities, research institutions external to universities, companies from business and industry, or public institutions. Our customers or partners are automatically included in our project team.
CUTEC stands for innovative environmentally oriented systems and process engineering within the more general fields of environmental and power engineering. The objective of our work is to develop technology and operational patterns for application in practice, or to adapt them for use in industrial production processes. Individual applications-oriented research and development projects are either supported by external funds or executed within the scope of jobs, innovative services and consulting work, as well as expertise.
Moreover, we conduct conferences, seminars, and workshops - also on an international level.
CUTEC has supplemented its traditional operative field of business, that is, recycling and waste management, to include the fields of mobility management as well as energy and supply management. The special topics under investigation in these fields can be characterised by the following chains of key words: waste - waste water - soil, fuel - power trains - emissions, combustion - gasification - pyrolysis, each of which is the responsibility of the process-engineering departments, Physical and Biological Processes, Chemical Processes, Thermal Processes. Interdisciplinary projects - such as the Clausthal Energy Park - encourage mutual cooperation among the different specialised departments.
